Weddings
Choosing the right photographer for your wedding - whether it's an intimate gig you've got planned or you're going for the full monty with a marching band and peacocks on the lawn - is a really important part of your day. If you’ve had a look through my previous work and you like my photographic style then please get in touch and see if I have availability for your big day.
To make sure I give my couples the attention and service they deserve I only take on a handful of weddings a year, and I accept most through recommendation, so the earlier you can let me know the better. If I’m available for your date then the next step is for us to chat on the phone to understand what you’re looking for and talk through the day with you. From the outset you’ll have an idea of the cost from the three wedding photography packages I offer below. If there’s something more bespoke you’re after then we can normally work something out.

If you feel like we’re the perfect fit for your day then I’ll draft an agreement and get it over to you so we both know what to expect. Once they’re signed and a deposit of £200 is paid, you’ve secured me for the date and you can tick wedding photographer off your list!
No two couples are the same which means no two weddings are the same. One size DOES NOT fit all when it comes to weddings. We’ll meet beforehand and visit the venue to make sure that we have all the photography angles (and contingencies for rain!) covered before the day. This means on the day of your wedding you can leave all the photography to me to manage - and you can just enjoy your day knowing the photography side of things are in safe hands.
My photography is a blend of honest, unobtrusive, photo-journalistic style photography; though obviously for weddings there are also more formal elements around the ceremony and group photos. Both can say a lot about your family or friendships and sometimes the best photos come when you are least expecting it. For me, weddings are about telling a story and documenting your day - from the smallest details through to the biggest moments - without too much direction or intervention. Real and authentic images speak louder than posed photographs.

Some questions I'm frequently asked :
Do I have to feed you?
No - I have 4 children and I’ve been making packed lunches for what feels like the last 20 years so I will supply my own food - and I’m vegan which also causes some people to panic - so you don’t have to!
How long have you been a photographer?
I’ve been a freelance photographer since 2016. Over the last 8 years I’ve photographed everything from families, weddings, christenings, funerals, large public and private events, birthdays, newborn babies and even Royal Garden Parties and Royal Palace events in the capital. My photographs have also appeared in local & national magazines, national newspapers and websites owned by charities and national organisations, for example the Royal Air Force & the Royal British Legion.
How long until we get our photos?
Editing the digital negatives takes around 3-6 weeks depending on workload. I will aim to get a handful of edits through to you within 48 hours so that you can share them on social media or with friends & family.
Why does wedding photography cost so much?
Taking the actual photos on the day of your wedding is only part of my job. I also need to factor in meeting you beforehand, site visits and travel. The real work then comes from processing and editing all the digital images in the weeks that follow. Like most professional photographers, I take photographs in RAW format - which are equivalent to digital negatives. This means that each individual image can be adjusted for colour, style and tone without loss of quality before finally exporting them in JPEG format for your portfolio. Processing your entire day into this format, making sure that the quality and tone is consistent, is where wedding photographers earn their money.
Do you have some sort of back up system in case your camera gets damaged or the memory cards are corrupted?
Yes, the Nikon cameras I use carry 2 parallel SD cards which automatically create a copy of your photos, so if one card corrupts your images will be safely stored on the other. I also carry back up cameras, lenses, batteries and SD cards.
Do I get RAW files as part of the package?
No - RAW files are the unedited and unprocessed versions of your wedding that I use to create the final collection of images. Think of going to a restaurant and asking the chef if you can just take the ingredients home rather than them cooking the meal - you just wouldn’t ask (or expect) that! Also, the RAW files are HUGE and you need specialist software to open them.
What happens if it’s raining?
Well, this is the UK after all! Rain, umbrellas and puddles can add a really unique, romantic and fun element to your photos. I always bring a couple of big white golf-style umbrellas and we’ll have contingencies for rain agreed before your day. We can work with rain!
What happens if you’re ill on the day?
I would need to be really really ill to not show up to your wedding - as in not able to move! But I have a great network of colleagues who I trust and who I can call on last minute to step in if needed. I would still take on the editing and processing work so you’d still get photos in my signature style.
Anything else I should ask?
